The Fuzzy Search

Remember to put AS: before all of your advanced searches!
Fuzzy logic searches allow you to look for words that are “something like” the term entered. For example, if you “fuzzy searched” air, you would get airplane, air but, also, aid. Look at this example:

Notice how the search for "dog~" (1 above) returns sound-like words such as "Dor", "log", etc. and centers its top hit of "Gog" (3 above).

Fuzzy Searching can be very valuable when you don’t remember how to spell a word, place or when you want similar ideas based on a word. It can be fun just to see what “fuzzy ideas” are kind of like what you are studying.

To use fuzzy searching, follow your search word by the tilde (“~”) located just to the left of the number “1” key.
